This week my
Dad came in to talk to my class about money! He showed us three videos as well
as a short PowerPoint. My dad also told us a bit about his job as a lawyer, and
answered some people’s questions.
On Friday my mum came in to talk about Tonga. First we
talked about the Tongan rules which are to not talk back to your parents. Then
we talked about the most important thing about Tonga like family and religious.
Family is important because the mum and
the dad does everything but dad is the head of the family like if you say I
want mum and dad to stop fighting then they will have a family meeting. And
when they said sorry it’s over.
For the last two weeks Room 9 have been learning about Kia Kaha, which means to be brave and strong, and stand up for yourself. Children and young people should be encouraged to believe in themselves, their qualities and their abilities and to stand up for themselves so that they will not become victims of bullying. Today we role played a bullying scenario with a positive outcome. We hope you enjoy our videos.
Room 9 has
made a class waka. Everyone has made a person and a paddle for the waka. The
waka is very big. It can fit thirty paper people. We put our class strength’s on
the paddles too. We presented it in the cloak bay and it looks great.
Every Friday we perform plays in our class to practice our oral language skills, expression and speaking in front of an audience. This is a play from a journal. We hope you enjoy it.
On my family
Friday my mum came in to talk about Korea. It was fun telling the classroom
some Korean words like thank you and good morning. Mum also told them about some famous
food and music about Korea. Thanks mum.
