Feast Day of St Mary MacKillop

On the feast day of st Mary MacKillop each classroom got together with another classroom. Room 9 was with Room 1 and 2. Our two classes did some awesome projects. Room 1 and 2 made some bookmarks and room 9 made collage flowers talking about Mary MacKillop. We created petals by folding a piece of paper in half 4 times then on the side that isn’t split and cut out a half petal shape and then you’ve got two petals! We needed to make five big ones and five small ones. We coloured the petals in and stuck the little petals on a piece of paper and then stuck the big petals in the gaps. Room 1 and 2 made bookmarks on coloured paper. They stuck pictures of Mary MacKillop  onto them. My partners were Esme and Josie, two students from Room 2. My best friend was partnered with Mary, another student from Room 2. After an awesome morning we went down the school to Room 4 to get a sausage to eat . It was amazing and we all had a great day. Thank you Mary for all your loving help!

The Flag Pole

The Flag Pole
By: Maggie

On the day of Room Nine’s assembly the
whole school went out to the front of the
church to see the raising of the flag on the
flag pole. The whole school had been waiting
for a long time for this. First of all we sang
the national anthem while Father blessed the
flag. After that we raised the flagpole. Finally!
The flag looked beautiful flowing in the wind.
Room Nine had their assembly straight
afterwards so we were wearing onesies and
mufti! Not very respectful! When we went
home we could see the flag flowing gracefully
in the wind. It was wonderful!
