Caritas

Today we had a Caritas lady called Gemma come into our class and teach us about what Caritas people do to help other people in need.

Then we learnt about a man called Nick and what he did for his job working for Caritas. He had asked people in the Pacific Ocean about what is needed and what has happened, then they got a group of people to help.

After that Gemma showed us some pictures of a teenager called Maria. Maria was very lucky because lots of people can’t afford to go to high school, but Maria could afford to go. She lives with her mum, dad, brothers and grandma. Maria has chores to do which are; wash the clothes and wash her brothers.

The village that Maria lives in only has three taps for water but Caritas is helping them by getting them more taps so that they don’t have to keep on lining up in long lines every day wasting their time.

We really enjoyed learning about what Caritas is and we hope we learn more.
